Beneath the Surface Exhibition at QCP

I am exhibiting part of my Acquired series from last year at the Queensland Centre for Photography in Brisbane this month. The opening night is this Saturday at 5pm. If you live in Brisbane you should drop in for some photo viewing!

Bushfires in Tasmania

We went to Tasmania for a two week holiday over December/January. While we were down there we made a day trip to Port Arthur. The bush fires happened to start on the same day. Over the course of the afternoon, while we were still on the island, the fire spread over the Dunalley Bridge, the only way to and from Port Arthur. We spent five hours at an evacuation centre before they sent a ferry to the peninsula that would take us to Hobart. These are photos I took whilst at the evacuation centre in Numbeena. It was ridiculously hot that day. Up to 40 degress I think.

Diane

I bumped into Diane in Queen Street Mall yesterday and I asked to take her photo. She said yes and then we had a nice chat. She told me about the things she had bought that morning, such as the red shoes she is wearing in the picture.
